A plumber is a person who is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes in commercial structures like apartment buildings or residential homes. They also collaborate with other construction professionals such as general contractors to ensure everything goes according to plan during renovations or new builds.
The course is aimed at training candidates for the job of a ‘Plumber General’, in the Plumbing Sector industry. The duties and responsibilities of the plumbers include
- reading blueprints and drawings to understand or plan the layout of plumbing, waste disposal and water supply systems.
- Cutting, assembling and installing pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure (e.g.) electrical wiring)
- Installing and maintaining water supply systems
- Locate and repair issues with water supply lines (e.g., leaks)
- Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets etc.
- Repair domestic appliances (e.g., washing machines) and fixtures (e.g., sinks) etc.
- Install and maintain gas and liquid heating systems (air-conditioning units, radiators etc.)
After completing the course, candidates will be able to:
- Understand pre installation related activities involving understanding of the task, material preparation, taking measurements and marking the positions.
- Install pipes and sanitary fixtures.
- Basic quality check of the installed fittings and fixtures.
- Understanding the installed system, basic inspection and identification of the fault in the system.
- Repair like replacement etc. with minimal damage to other systems.
- Coordinate with seniors and other team members.
- Maintain healthy and safe at secure working environment.
Passed candidates will be provided a financial reward and a government certification on completion of training and assessment along with necessary Tools, which will help them in securing a job for a better future.
