Mason General work, or masonry, is a construction trade that entails building structures out of component parts made of various materials, such as brick or stone. Masonry involves skilled labour, as most forms of mason work involve laying individual components in precise arrangements and are thus resistant to mechanization.
The course is aimed at training candidates for the job of a ‘Mason General’ in the “Construction” Sector/ Industry and to gain insight into the job role and its career progression.
The specific duties of a Mason General may vary depending on the type of masonry, but there are some activities that are common among masons, such as dressing components, mixing binding substances, transporting and placing components and reading and adhering to building plans.
