An electrician is a tradesperson specializing in electrical wiring of buildings, transmission lines, stationary machines, and related equipment. Electricians work on electrical equipment and in homes, factories, businesses and buildings both existing and under construction.  To install, repair and maintain power, lighting, communications and control systems, read technical diagrams and blueprints, perform general electrical maintenance, inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components, troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate of testing devices, repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures, follow National Electrical Code state and local building regulations, circuit breaker corrective maintenance, good knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems, good knowledge of various test equipment.

It goes without saying, but the individual need to have the right technical skills to complete the work to the proper standard. These skills will be taught during electrician training, as well as safety knowledge that will keep the candidate and everyone else protected. For electrician training, some of the standard skills to instruct the candidate is the teamwork, patience, communication skills and  a friendly demeanor which is the vital components for an electrician. To corroborate the candidate in creating the business plan, which will include both short and long term goals, a budget, strategies for attracting clients, where financing will flow as well as to gain information on the target market after certification and completion of the training.
